The PoSH Act of India

Covers India’s PoSH Act. The module focuses on key provisions under the PoSH Act, the Internal Complaints Committee and its responsibilities, and how to report sexual harassment.

Why is harassment prevention training important in India?

While there are currently no specific federal laws mandating harassment prevention training, the POSH Act requires employers to provide a safe working environment free from sexual harassment and establish Internal Complaints Committees (ICCs) to address complaints.

Many companies in India voluntarily implement harassment prevention training programs to educate employees on recognizing, preventing, and addressing harassment and discrimination in the workplace. These training initiatives typically cover legal provisions, reporting procedures, bystander intervention, and fostering a culture of respect and inclusivity.
