Course Summary

Ethena makes it easy to meet Maine’s sexual harassment training requirements with a course that covers the law and teaches employees how to navigate tough workplace situations.

The course covers Maine-mandated topics like examples and definitions of sexual harassment, specific manager responsibilities, and information about retaliation protections โ€” in a way that makes employees tune in, not out.

Included Modules:

Introduction to Harassment Prevention

This introduction to Ethena’s sexual harassment course goes over the topics we’ll cover, what you can expect in the course, and why it’s important to build an inclusive and respectful workplace for all.

Rules and Regulations

This module identifies some federal laws that prohibit sexual harassment as well as specific training requirements in certain states, protected actions, and retaliation.

Being an Active Bystander

This module covers the four forms of bystander intervention and provides tips on how to step in during a situation.

Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity

A primer on two protected characteristics that can merit extra explanation โ€” sexual orientation and gender identity โ€” with definitions and scenarios.

Maine

Covers Maine-specific laws around harassment, including the MHRA, reporting to the MHRC, and pregnancy and gender expression protections.

Why is harassment prevention training in Maine important?

As of January 1, 2021, Maine law mandates that employers with 15 or more employees must provide sexual harassment prevention training to all employees within one year of their hire date. This training must cover topics such as the definition of sexual harassment, examples of inappropriate behaviors, reporting procedures, and the consequences of harassment. Furthermore, supervisors and managers are required to undergo additional training on how to prevent and respond to harassment effectively.

I love the examples you provided. These happen in REAL LIFE!
