Camp Ethena 2024: Camper Handbook

What is Camp Ethena?

Camp Ethena is a 6-week long, 100% virtual "summer camp", running from 7/22/24 to 8/30/24. It's filled with activities, advice, and conversation around what goes into a healthy, functioning, and well-trained workplace, while also addressing major HR pain points like employee complaints, lack of support, and the pressure to be the culture bearer.

We'll get our hands dirty exploring the icky stuff like burnout, terminations, complaints, and employee investigations, and we'll talk by the fire with our peers about how to approach tricky situations.

Introducing the Happy Camper Contest

Every week, we’ll be “hiding” a Happy Camper secret clue throughout our materials – in our webinars, blog posts, social media, and emails. Each clue will be accompanied by our Happy Camper badge, so if you spot the badge, know that the secret clue is nearby! The clue will always be surrounded by the tent emoji so you’ll know for sure that you’ve captured the correct clue!

If you find six of our clues over the course of the Camp Ethena programming, submit them to the form that will be open during our final week of camp (August 26 - 30, 2024) to be entered to win. You can either copy and paste the text of the clue, or take a screenshot of the clue (no need to grab the badge!). Don’t worry – there will be more than six total to find, so even if you miss a post or a webinar, you may still find six clues by the end of Camp!

We’ll be selecting 10 prize recipients at random from all valid submissions, to win their choice of either a Camp Ethena Care Package (including Camp Ethena swag like enamel pins, camp mugs, and/or ball caps) or a private half-hour conversation with our VP of People, Melanie Naranjo, to ask all of your burning HR/People questions, get advice on a particular problem, or just make a new friend!
