Bloodborne Pathogens

Course Summary

Employees who work in healthcare settings or other workplaces where they may come into contact with blood, bodily fluids, or other potentially infectious materials (OPIM) are at increased risk for contracting disease. This is why OSHA has created a specific standard for bloodborne pathogens, including a requirement that employers train their staff on this topic.

This training module covers the most important aspects of the bloodborne pathogens standard. It defines bloodborne pathogens and potentially infectious materials and gives guidance on how to mitigate exposure, communicate about hazards, and report on exposures when they do occur.
