Why is it important to understand visible, invisible, and hypervisible identities?

Visible, invisible, and hypervisible identities encompass a spectrum of experiences within the realm of diversity and inclusion. Visible identities are those readily apparent to others, often based on characteristics such as race, gender, or physical disability. Invisible identities, on the other hand, are not immediately evident and may include aspects such as sexual orientation, mental health, or socioeconomic status. Hypervisible identities, meanwhile, are highly salient and subject to intense scrutiny and stereotyping, often leading to increased vulnerability and marginalization.
