Being an Ally with a Rising Identity

Course Summary

Employees with rising identities are those who have traditionally been marginalized — or even actively omitted — from systemic consideration in the past.

This training is designed for these employees, helping them balance their own needs as someone with a rising identity while also continuing to extend support to their colleagues.

Why is this training important?

Rising identities encompass emerging or evolving aspects of individuals’ identities that are gaining recognition and visibility in society. These identities may include newly recognized gender identities, such as non-binary or genderfluid, or evolving sexual orientations, like pansexuality or asexuality. Rising identities can also encompass cultural or ethnic identities that are gaining prominence due to increased awareness and advocacy efforts. In a constantly evolving social landscape, acknowledging and validating rising identities is essential for promoting inclusivity and understanding the diverse experiences of individuals.
